Vegetarian Guesthouse

In 2001 we started our successful market garden business, supplying high-quality vegetables to Cork's best restaurants. In December 2003 we bought a 9 acre field facing the Atlantic ocean close to the village of Nohoval. Our aim was to build an eco-friendly traditional-style farmhouse with rooms for guests to stay and experience the beauty of the South Cork coast and to sample the wonderful range of vegetables grown on site, on the organic farm.

The house has two double bedrooms and a twin room for guests, all of which look out towards the rolling agricultural landscape of South Cork and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The twin room can be converted into a double room, if required. All rooms are en-suite, containing a shower, toilet and wash-hand basin.

The eco-friendly design of Gort-Na-Nain, with its exceptional insulation properties, wood-burning stoves and solar panels, means that the cosy interior is achieved with minimum energy inputs.

Guests with dogs are welcome at Gort-Na-Nain, although dogs are only permitted in one bedroom in the house. If you intend to bring your canine companion be sure to let us know when booking, so we know to reserve this room for you!
